EMMA PRIVACY POLICY

1. SCOPE AND OPERATOR
This policy applies to Emma, the Discord bot with Discord user ID 880242090389413938, including its commands, automated responses, story integrations, authorised API and private administration tools.
Emma is operated by Pupi.Co Pty Ltd. The Pessimist Privacy Policy also applies and contains important information about Pupi.Co, security, international processing, privacy rights, complaints and contact details. This Emma policy explains the information practices specific to Emma.
If this policy conflicts with the Pessimist Privacy Policy about an Emma-specific practice, this policy applies to that practice.
2. HOW EMMA HANDLES DISCORD EVENTS
Discord may deliver message and interaction events to Emma in direct messages and in server channels where Emma has permission to operate. Emma may transiently process an event to determine whether it is a command, trigger or other interaction intended for Emma.
Emma is designed to discard unrelated message content rather than retain it. Server administrators should limit Emma's channel permissions to places where its functionality is wanted and tell server members that Emma is present.
3. INFORMATION EMMA PROCESSES
Depending on how Emma is used, Emma may process:
Discord user ID, username, display name, mention and avatar URL;
whether the author is a bot;
message or command content directed to Emma or needed to invoke a stated feature;
message ID, timestamp, mentions and links;
Discord server ID, server name, owner ID and member count;
channel ID, channel name and channel type;
premium, activation or server-booster status;
bot server and shard counts;
server configuration, including an allowed channel and story-mode status;
campaign or service-announcement configuration and delivery results;
admin login, session and security information; and
information supplied by an authorised Pessimist integration through Emma's signed API.
Emma does not directly receive an ordinary Discord user's IP address, telephone number or Discord account email from Discord. It may nevertheless encounter personal information that a person writes in a message.
4. PURPOSES
Emma uses information to:
respond to commands and deliberate interactions;
produce Emma's comedic and satirical responses;
run configured stories and character interactions;
respect server channel and story-mode settings;
check premium, activation and booster access;
deliver operational service announcements enabled by server administrators;
authenticate authorised administrators and integrated services;
prevent abuse, diagnose errors and secure the service; and
create aggregate or properly deidentified service statistics.
Emma does not use Discord API data for targeted advertising or train AI or machine-learning models using Discord message content.
5. ANALYTICS AND SERVICE IMPROVEMENT
Emma may count interactions, server totals, response success rates and feature use after the information has been aggregated or deidentified so it is not reasonably linkable to an individual.
Information used to improve triggers is reduced to non-identifying intent or phrase statistics. Raw free-text messages, Discord user IDs and persistent user-level activity histories are not retained merely for analytics or product improvement.
Aggregate server and shard counts may be sent to Top.gg. They do not include individual user IDs or message content.
6. STORIES, ANNOUNCEMENTS AND INTEGRATIONS
Emma may store story content, trigger configuration, server and channel configuration, playback counts, cooldown information and delivery history needed to operate configured stories.
An authorised integration may supply server ID, channel ID and message content and request that Emma send, edit or delete a Discord message. Requests are authenticated using a signed integration mechanism. Integrated services must be approved by Pupi.Co and may use information only to provide the requested Pessimist functionality.
Operational announcements must relate to Emma or the Pessimist service, be enabled or reasonably expected by the server administrator, and comply with Discord's rules. Emma does not use Discord user data to target unrelated advertising.
7. ADMINISTRATION AND SECURITY DATA
Emma's restricted admin tools may process administrator Discord ID, one-time login-token metadata, authentication status, session information and audit or security events. Authorised administrators may view necessary server configuration, delivery history and aggregate statistics.
One-time admin tokens expire after their intended short authentication window and should be deleted within 24 hours after expiry or use. Essential admin-session cookies last only as long as needed for the authorised session.
8. SERVICE PROVIDERS AND DISCLOSURES
Emma may disclose information to:
Discord, to receive events, send bot responses and authenticate administrators;
Pessimist account and entitlement systems, to check premium or activation status;
contracted cloud infrastructure, database, logging and storage providers, to operate and secure Emma;
MongoDB, where used for activation and server configuration records;
Bella and other authorised Pessimist integrations, to run coordinated story functionality; and
Top.gg, for aggregate server and shard counts.
These providers must be limited to information reasonably necessary for their function. Providers handling Discord API data on Pupi.Co's behalf must be contractually restricted to acting at Pupi.Co's direction and not using that data for their own purposes.

9. RETENTION
Subject to a valid user or Discord deletion request and legal requirements, Emma's intended standard retention is:
ordinary message content used to produce a response: transient processing only;
aggregate or properly deidentified analytics: may be retained without a fixed period because they no longer identify a person;
server configuration: while Emma is installed and ordinarily for no more than 30 days after removal;
activation and entitlement records: while active and as described in the Pessimist Privacy Policy;
story configuration: until an administrator deletes the story or it is no longer used;
server story-play and cooldown history: ordinarily up to 12 months;
announcement delivery and error history: ordinarily up to 90 days;
security and application logs: ordinarily up to 90 days, with ordinary logs designed not to contain full message content; and
admin authentication-token records: deleted within 24 hours after expiry or use.
Discord API data is deleted promptly when the relevant user or Discord validly requests deletion, when no longer necessary for Emma's approved functionality, or when Emma stops operating, unless retention is required by law.
10. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
You can avoid message-content processing by not directing messages or commands to Emma. Server administrators can restrict Emma to specified channels or remove it from a server.
To request access, correction or deletion, email pessimist@emmasdome.co. Include your Discord user ID and, where relevant, server, channel and message IDs. We may verify that the request relates to you.
Removing a Discord message or account does not automatically remove separate records held by Pupi.Co, so a direct request may be needed. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days, subject to lawful exceptions.
11. CHILDREN
Emma is not directed to anyone below Discord's minimum age or the minimum age required by applicable law. If Pupi.Co learns that prohibited child data has been collected, it will take reasonable steps to delete it.
12. SECURITY, INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING AND COMPLAINTS
The security, international-processing, privacy-rights and complaint provisions in the Pessimist Privacy Policy apply to Emma. Information may be processed outside Australia by Discord and contracted service providers.

13. CHANGES
We may update this policy when Emma's functionality or legal obligations change. We will update the date above and provide reasonable notice of material changes. A new collection or materially different use will not begin until any notice, Discord approval or consent required by law has been completed.
